La Striscia is a place of great charm, where woods and Mediterranean scrubland alternate with olive groves, vineyards and fields planted with wheat and spelt. For nearly a century, the property has been owned by the Vismara family, which has carefully preserved and enhanced the historic estate as much as possible over time, keeping its rich cultural heritage alive.

It is nicely located in a quiet and private surroundings with a fantastic view of  Tuscan hill-sides with direct view on the city of Volterra. From the fattoria visits to cities like Siena, Pisa. Luca and Firenze can be made within 90 minutes by car. Smaller towns are within a 30 minute drive such as Volterra, San Gimignano and Certaldo. Take you night vision camera with you for the night life on la Stricia: you might see deer, fox, wild boar and porcupines in the evening or night.

Between the villa and the tower, we comfortably slept a dozen people and could have fit more. Private pool was cleaned daily and multiple kitchens and wood burning stoves were equipped and ready for our group meals around the outdoor table. Lots of parking for our rental cars, and easy 20-30 minutes commutes to restaurants, wineries and neighboring towns. Unbelievable views over the countryside all topped off with the generous, friendly host, Francesca who was responsive and helpful during our entire stay! Cannot recommend enough and can’t wait to be back!
